A WARRIOR'S VALOR SITE RULES
Like all sites, A Warrior's Valor has specific guidelines in place that need to be followed at all times. By joining you automatically agree to these rules listed below. It's ultimately up to you as a member to remain abreast to rule changes, however, members of the staff team will update you on any rule changes. Thank you for reading carefully!
GENERAL RULES
01. Respect is a key factor on this site and we ask that you be respectful to our members and Staff Team alike. If you cannot be respectful to us, you will be forced to leave A Warrior’s Valor. We’re aiming to be a friendly and welcoming community to everyone who joins, no matter race, ethnicity, or gender/sexual identification. If someone is behaving inappropriately (i.e. harassing you or others or being repeatedly rude to you or others, et cetera), please bring this to a staff member's immediate attention via PM! Do not try to handle the situation by yourself anywhere on the forum or in the chatbox!
02. All rules mentioned in ProBoards TOS must be followed. Meaning anyone found under the age of 13 will be banned without warning.
03. We highly suggest that members tag or PM a staff member if you want our immediate attention. This way we can help you right away. You can do this via doing @username of the person you want to tag and get the attention of.
04. “Sentence enhancers” (cursing) are allowed here at AWV, however, don’t be extreme about it. Keep some tact and dignity as it can be offensive to some members. Every other sentence should be fine. No directing profanity at another member! Breakage of this rule may result in account suspension depending on the severity. The f-bomb is an exception to this rule and as such is not allowed here.
05. Please don’t spam our forums or the chat! What is spam and what's considered spam? Spam is unsolicited links, advertisements, and sending out the same messages repeatedly. Anyone found spamming will be warned and depending on the severity may have their account suspended for a limited time.
06. Explicit messages/photos are not allowed here at AWV. Keep it pg-13 and family friendly, please.
07. We are a one account per person, not multiple accounts per character. That mean's you'll have one account for all of your characters. It's easier to keep track of one account with several characters than several accounts with different characters.
08. Staff members reserve the right to add onto, change, or remove rules and regulations at any given time with or without a notice prior or after such changes. It is ultimately your responsibility to remain up to date to any of these changes.
09. We encourage everyone to interact with everyone! Try to include new members in discussions in the c-box and in threads! We’re all here because we share an interest in Warrior roleplays so why don’t we try to be welcoming to everyone? We don’t ask that you like everyone, we only ask that you try to include them and have a respectful approach. Who knows you might just make a new roleplay buddy!
10. AWV’s word minimum is 75 words. However, when it comes to writing roleplay replies here at A Warrior’s Valor it's all about speed and quality over quantity. While we do love those long replies we understand that sometime's they can be tough to accomplish so we only ask that our member's try to reply to their threads as quickly as humanly possible.
- Quality → Speed → Quantity
13. Members are expected to report any loophole's found in the rules or among the site itself.
IN CHARACTER RULES
01. No two characters in the same clan can have the same name as a prefix. An example could be that if there was a Barkface and a Barkkit in Thunderclan then someone would need to have their name changed. As members, please be aware of what names are taken in each clan and which names are not to avoid confusion.
02. A Warrior’s Valor is a semi-realistic site, this being said we do not accept unrealistic coat or eye colors. Extra growth isn’t allowed as well (i.e. Horns, wings). Overgrown teeth and claws are an exception to this rule so long as you've purchased the Mutant item from the site's store.
03. For realism sake, we don't accept kit characters below the age of 5 moons unless you purchase the Youth Serum from the site store. We don't want to have unwanted kits running around without supervision.
04. Pregnant queens/characters are not allowed to be created for realistic purposes unless you purchase the Gift of Pregnancy item.
05. Gary Stu's and Mary Sues are not permitted here at AWV. What is a Mary Sue? A Mary Sue is an idolized or otherwise seemingly perfect fictional character that saves the day through unrealistic abilities. These characters are insufferably perfect and incapable of making mistakes. A Gary Stu is a male version of a Mary Sue. Balance your character out! Make them have weaknesses and strengths as we all have weaknesses and strengths, we’re not all perfect. Have your characters have imperfections!
06. Please roleplay to your character's personality. So an arrogant character won't just "become" overly sweet. Keep to your character's personality to the best of your ability.
07. Your characters are allowed to have defects so long as you have purchased the Defects item! (i.e. being partially or completely blind, being partially or completely deaf, not being able to smell, lame, et cetera). Keep in mind that cats with disabilities will be affected differently in clan life as they have to deal with different everyday struggles. We encourage individuality and diversity!
08. Because it’s nearly impossible to have a purebred cat in the wild purebred felines must be purchased!
09. The same can be said for half-clan cat's. Forbidden loves and kits that result from them are frowned upon and to reduce the number of felines with half-clan histories you must first purchase the Impure Blood item from the sites store.
10. You are allowed to have up to 2 High ranked characters at a single time. You must kill off high ranked characters if you want another or different high ranked character if you have reached your max. We encourage that everyone gets a chance to rule a clan of their own. There are rules, however, to having HP. If you roleplay a deputy and a leader, then this is fine. But, controlling and managing two entire clans at the same time is against the rules. (i.e. having two leaders of two different clans) To learn more about the expectations and responsibilities of HP’s click HERE
11. Becoming any high rank requires someone with skill at roleplay, is active on the site, and posts frequently in the designated clan looking for a high ranked character. High ranks for the clans include: Leaders, Deputies, and Medicine cats.
12. You can have an unlimited amount of character’s here at AWV, just make sure you can handle the amount you set yourself with!
13. Tagging is a very important action here at AWV. When you are rping with someone and you want their attention be sure to tag them in the thread! You can do this by typing in @username of the person you are wishing to tag.
14. Graphic sex is not permitted here at AWV! Please use the traditional “fade to black” to signify you and your partner have done the deed.
15. There are several form's of bad roleplaying and here at A Warriors Valor we don't accept them. These behaviors are commonly displayed by newcomer's to the world of roleplaying and as such don't fully understand the definitions of Metagaming, Powerplaying, and Godmodding. To prevent these behavior's please take the time to read this article: Bad Roleplay
16. Though we’re not literate we ask that you have a basic grasp of proper grammar. While A Warrior’s Valor is a place for all skill levels from beginner to intermediate to advance it’s essential that people are able to understand and comprehend what you are saying. Typo’s and small errors as such are completely understandable, but repeated typo's and confusing punctuation can be a preventative for others. Please don’t be afraid to reach out if you feel like your writing is lacking that extra oomph! Members and staff alike are often times a great source of advice.
17. Fertile and infertile male calico's and tortoiseshells are allowed here at AWV, however, they must be purchased!
18. Here at AWV we accept and allow different sexualities other than heterosexual. This spices up roleplay and character development and here we encourage diversity. No one will be harassed or bullied should they choose to make a bisexual or homosexual character. Anyone found harassing or bullying someone will have their account terminated.
19. We only accept male and female characters, sorry for any inconveniences this may cause you! Despite your gender identity, you are still welcomed to join and won't be treated any differently. We don't discriminate here at AWV!
20. OOC plotting is banned here at AWV! To put a special twist to AWV member's are encouraged to let plots form organically and to express both themselves and their character's freely without worrying about repercussions from staff. Do keep in mind of Clan law's and lore, but that should only make thing's more exciting right? Here our inner writer's are able to go wild.
21. No suicidal or self-harming characters. An animal's instinct is to survive and it goes against their very nature to inflict self-harm upon himself when their only goal in life is to survive. Not only that but this can be a very sensitive subject for some members and we wish to be open-minded and respectful of what some people are going through in real life.
22. Before creating your character be sure you take a look at our Ban and Encourages List! This helps prevents overpopulation in a clan and allows the others to catch up. By creating a character that’s highly encouraged or having your character join a clan that’s encouraged you’ll be rewarded!
23. When creating your biography please use the application template provided. It has been created specifically for you to use for your character. Do not remove or change any of the labels already on there unless it's ‘optional’.
ACTIVITY EXPECTATIONS
01. Please notify a member of the staff team or post a message HERE if you are going to be gone longer than 3 days. This helps us out by not marking your account inactive. You’re never required to explain as to why you’ll be leaving and no one will ever pressure you to do so, however, you are always welcomed to do so if you feel comfortable enough.
- full hiatus - When you’re fully away from the site and won’t be able to get on within the three-day minimum to post around or show your beautiful face. You don’t need to discuss why you’re leaving, however knowing the time frame of when you’ll leave and come back is beneficial to you and the Staff Team. You’ll be excused from any activity check depending on the length of absence.
- semi-hiatus - When you’re still around the site but are slow when it comes to posting. You’ll be expected to reply to the end of the month activity check.
02. Understand that real life is very important and that that should always come first before the internet. With that said here at AWV, we ask that you take care of yourself first. Though like mentioned above, please notify a staff member if you are leaving for more than 3 days!
03. Activity Checks are hosted at the end of each month! All members who haven’t posted a full hiatus message are expected to post in said activity check for that given month.
Thanks for reading!
